JTA Site Registration ? Frequently Asked Questions

Why is JTA asking our Web site readers to register?

Registration will help JTA learn more about visitors to our Web site so that we can try to improve how we serve our readership in the future.

Having a better grasp of our readership may also help JTA obtain additional support from sponsors and funders.

JTA is a not-for-profit agency supported by the Jewish community. To learn how you can support JTA, click here.

How will the information I provide during registration be used?

JTA is committed to protecting our relationship with our readers. We will not sell, rent or give away of this personal information to any other parties.

We plan to analyze the information we gather so we know more about the demographics of our readership. We won't discuss it, except in the aggregate, with anyone else. In other words, we will now be able to tell potential site sponsors that x percent of our readers live in the western United States and that we average x number readers between 35-54 years of age each day, but we will never tell them anything about any specific reader.

We may use your contact information to send you an occasional e-mail about JTA. For example, we do an annual fund-appeal e-mail, and we operate events like discussions with Jewish leaders.

At some point in the future, we may decide to start sending out e-mailed marketing messages on behalf of appropriate businesses or organizations. However, in that situation, all of those e-mails will be sent by JTA, so your personal information will never be revealed to anyone outsite JTA. Every marketing e-mail of this nature that we send out will have a clearly labeled "please remove me from your marketing list" link.

If you have any further questions, please send an e-mail to webmaster@jta.org.
